  1. Sounds mediocre. I’ll just stick with movies like Rape of the Vampire, and other Rollin and Franco flicks. I’ll take deliriously kooky/strange vampire flicks over dull ones any day of the week.

    As for the maid solving all the problems, that reminds me of how Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves is resolved. The story should really be called Morgiana and the Forty Thieves.

  2. Hell, human beings go through midlife crises after a decade or two in this situation—existing that way until the end of time is almost inconceivably awful.

    Ah, but human beings have a mid-life crisis because it’s a mid-life crisis, don’t they?

    If you’re immortal, with no looming grave to have to worry about “living enough” before you’re consigned to it … maybe you do stay happily married and all that.

    After all, there’s always time later.

    (Plus, well, they’ve already had centuries to sow wild oats and get sick of it, too…)

    Immortality as leading to permanent bourgeois normality is more interesting than most horror/occult movie conceits.
